He was unveiled to a hero’s welcome after arriving in Istanbul, and wasted no time in endearing himself to fanatical Besiktas fans.

Alli scored his first goal for the club in tonight’s Super Lig clash against Ankaragucu.

The 26-year-old drifted into the box and earned a Burnley header on loan from Wout Weghorst.

He made no mistakes from close range, slamming into the back of the net to put Besiktas ahead 2-1.

It was his first league goal for a huge 378 DAYS.

He last found the back of the net in a league game in August 2021 while still at Tottenham.

It was in a 1-0 away win against Wolves.

And it was his first goal in all competitions since beating Slovenian minnows NS Mura 5-1 in the Europa Conference League on September 30, 2021.

Alli made an instant impact on his midweek debut with a brilliant solo run and cheeky nutmeg.

The midfielder endured a miserable eight months at Everton after leaving Spurs on a permanent deal in January.

In 13 appearances for the Toffees, he failed to score or provide an assist.

But he wasted no time getting started with his new team.
